To celebrate the Rugby World Cup 2023 and unite its community in support of the Springboks, Zimbali Estate transformed its Country Club into the ultimate supporter fan park. Designed as a family-friendly series of events, the activation brought together residents, friends, and guests to share in the excitement of the tournament, reinforcing Zimbali’s identity as a place where world-class hospitality meets authentic community connection.
With seating for 120 guests per match, the series unfolded across all seven Springbok fixtures, each one drawing a full house of supporters dressed in green and gold. From the moment guests arrived, the atmosphere buzzed with anticipation and pride. Every screening became a shared celebration filled with live entertainment, curated experiences, and activities for all ages. Children enjoyed dedicated play zones and creative workshops, while adults indulged in tasting stations and themed cocktail bars. Each matchday felt fresh and immersive, with pre-match build-up zones, halftime activations, and post-match celebrations creating rhythm and continuity throughout the series.
Food was a defining element of the experience. The Country Club kitchen, alongside select guest chefs, crafted themed menus inspired by the competing nations, transforming traditional match snacks into gourmet pairings. Signature cocktails and premium wine selections, courtesy of DGB Wines and Diageo, added refinement to each event, while family-style harvest tables encouraged connection and conversation among guests.
Beyond the spectacle, the fan park also served as a platform for meaningful impact. A dedicated CSI and PR campaign ran alongside the events, highlighting local initiatives and community upliftment projects. From charity raffles and food parcel collections to junior sports sponsorships, the Zimbali Rugby World Cup celebrations became a channel for giving back, uniting residents not only through sport but through purpose.
The experience was elevated through key partnerships with Freedom Won, Diageo, SMG, Huizemark Ballito, and DGB Wines. Each partner played a vital role in shaping the aesthetic and atmosphere of the fan park, helping to deliver an event series defined by quality, sophistication, and genuine warmth.
