Matriarch Marketing | Annual Conference 2018
It was an honour to partner with the dynamic team at Matriarch Marketing to design and execute a multi-day experience that blended strategy, celebration, and spirited teamwork.
The event began at Durban’s landmark Blue Waters Hotel, where an intensive day of creative brainstorming and forecasting set the tone for the year ahead. That evening, the team gathered for a gala dinner recognising the company’s brightest stars, complete with the unveiling of their custom Ellie Award trophies and a special Service Award created for the occasion.
The following morning, the energy shifted from ballroom elegance to coastal adventure with an Amazing Race–style team build along Durban’s North Beach. Racing on bikes and go-carts, participants followed a trail of clues and tasks; each inspired by key insights from the previous day’s conference. The challenge fostered communication, delegation, and creativity under pressure, with a dash of speed and agility.
A personal highlight was meeting local sand artist Michael, whose quick wit and creativity captured the day’s collaborative spirit.
